Web Store Tip of the Month
Bill of Materials (BOM).
This feature is available for registered and logged-in customers. We will store your personalized BOMs with your account for easy ordering of a group of parts with defined quantities.
There are three ways to create a BOM:
- From any product listing or product item page . . . click on the "Fav/BOM" icon (
, found on the right side of screen). You can add the item to an existing BOM or create a new BOM with this being the first item added.
- From your loaded shopping cart . . . choose the "Create BOM" button. This feature allows you to create and name your BOM. Note: this creates a BOM adding all the items in your shopping cart. If you need to modify the BOM, that is done from the BOM editor screen.
- BOM editor & maintenance screen. . . Choose "Ordering Tools" from the store top menu. Choose "Bill of Materials". Use the "Create a BOM" feature by naming and adding parts. You can also view, copy, delete, export and add your BOM to your shopping cart from this feature.
How to purchase from an existing BOM:
- From your shopping cart . . . choose the "Add a Quote or BOM" feature, choose from a list of valid BOMs stored with your account. Review the BOM contents and press "Add to Cart" button.
- BOM editor & maintenance screen. . . Choose "Ordering Tools" from the store top menu. Choose "Bill of Materials". Use the "Create a BOM" feature by naming and adding parts. You can also view, copy, delete, export and add your BOM to your shopping cart from this feature.

It's extremely quick and easy to get a quote from our web store.
- Add items to your shopping cart through item pages, quick order, or the cart page.
- Go to the shopping cart and select "Get a Quote"
That's all there is to it. You now have a printable quote and assigned quote number.
Things to remember . . .
- If you are a registered user and logged in:
- You can view and access all quotes you have created within your account
- As a guest user:
- You can access quotes by entering your quote number when quote was created
- To access quotes, choose "Ordering Tools" then "Quotes"
- On the Quotes page:
- You can view a quote
- Add an identifying name
- Renew expired quotes
- Add the quote to your cart
- Reprint, share (with other multi-users of your account), or remove a quote

Do-It-Yourself 30-day and in-warranty product return requests (RMA's)
Need to return a product? Requesting RMA paperwork is made simple through our online store.
- From the www.automationdirect.com MY ACCOUNT menu (green bar across the top) choose REQUEST AN RMA
- If you are not already logged into your account you will need to provide your email and zip/postal code the order was shipped to so we can identify the order
- Select 30-day Return or In-Warranty Failure Return and complete the requested information
- Submit the return. Our RMA team will email your RMA paperwork to be included with the shipment or contact you if additional information is necessary
- After requesting an RMA, you can choose MY ACCOUNT then RMA STATUS / REPRINT to get additional information regarding your request

Recommended Items help ensure you get the components need
To help make sure you get all the components and accessories you need with your order, we have added recommended items to each appropriate detailed item page throughout our web store.
For instance, if you purchase P3-550, the P3000 CPU unit, we recommend the options for a base, power supply, software, manual, etc. in addition to some optional accessories such as Ethernet cables and switches.
When you add items to the shopping cart, we also generate an consolidated list of recommended items to provide that last check for needed accessories before purchase. This is displayed on the cart page and allows easy addition of selected products to the order.

Why purchase B-stock products?
- 20% discount off the catalog price of available items
- Full 1-year warranty from the date of purchase against defects and workmanship
Products with available inventory will be listed under our "Re-manufactured Products" category. Items available are subject to change based on inventory status at the time the category page is generated
- Re-manufactured items are listed as "B-" plus "part#"
- "For example, the re-manufactured part number for a "D2-260", if available, would be "B-D2260"
- When available. B-stock products will also be listed on products pages
- Products are offered on a "first come, first serve" basis while supplies last
- Online offer only. You will need Web access to view product availability and to order
- Our 30-day money-back return policy DOES NOT apply with this offer
*Re-manufactured products, when available, will be listed on product pages. Not all part numbers have a b-stock version.

On-Demand Generation of Country of Origin Documentation
You can produce NAFTA Certificates of Origin as well as Manufacturer Affidavits directly from our web store. These documents can be created from an existing order, or you can input a custom list of part numbers.
- NAFTA Certificate of Origins are issued for items originating from the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
- Manufacturer Affidavits are issued for items originating from all other nations
How to do it:
- Login to your account on our Web site
- Choose the "Country of Origins Doc" link on the My Account menu
- Enter an order number or list of parts
- Choose the appropriate Create Documents button
