AC Drive Line Reactors - LR Series
Input Line Reactors and Output Reactors for AC Drives (VFD)
Line Reactors for VFD (Variable Frequency Drives)
- Line reactors used on the input side of a drive protect the AC drive from transient overvoltage conditions
typically caused by utility capacitor switching. Input line reactors also reduce the
harmonics associated with AC drives, and are recommended for all installations.
- Line reactors used on the output side of a drive (load reactors) protect the motor insulation against AC drive short
circuits and IGBT reflective wave damage, and also allow the motor to run cooler
by "smoothing" the motor current waveform. Output reactors are recommended for
operating "non-inverter-duty" motors and for any motors when the length of
wiring between the AC drive and motor exceeds 75 feet.
LR Series Line Reactors ... New!
- There are two series of AutomationDirect line reactors that can be used with GS series
AC Drives: the original GS series reactors (legacy) and the newer LR series
line reactors. New applications should use the LR series of line reactors for cost savings. NOTE: LR-Series line reactors can also be used with a variety of other VFD brands.
- LR series reactors have universal mounting feet with multiple mounting slots, and
they can replace most reactors using the existing mounting holes. Use four bolts
to mount the reactors to the mounting panel. LR series line reactors can be used on the input or output side of any manufacturer's AC drive.
- LR series line reactor prices start at $56.00
(LR-20P5)
