IronHorse™ General Purpose Single-Phase AC Motors
IronHorse single-phase AC electric motors are available in horsepower ranges from 1/3 Hp to 1.5 Hp
... and are priced from
$96.00
to $153.00
.
We also offer:
Three-phase 56C Motors - Rolled Steel
IronHorse™ electric motors are manufactured by a leading motor supplier with over 20 years experience delivering high-quality
electric motors to the demanding U.S. market. Our supplier produces these 1-phase AC motors in an ISO9001 facility, which tests these single phase motors
during production and after final assembly. This is how we can stand behind these industrial AC electric motors with a two-year warranty.
These motors are also sometimes referred to as induction motors. An induction motor or asynchronous motor is a type of alternating current motor where
power is supplied to the rotor by means of electromagnetic induction. Induction motors are now the preferred choice for industrial AC motors due to their
rugged construction, absence of brushes (which are required in most DC motors) and the ability to control the speed of the motor.

Complete IronHorse Single-Phase AC Motors Overview
56C Frame Single-Phase AC TEFC Motors – Accessories
Motor Start Capacitors
1-phase motors use motor start capacitors to provide starting torque when power is first applied to the AC electric motor.
AutomationDirect offers spare/replacement motor starting capacitors for our IronHorse single phase motors.
Centrifugal Switches
The AC motor start capacitors are no longer needed once the motors begin turning, so they are
then taken out of the circuit by a centrifugal switch. We also supply
spare/replacement switches for our AC motors. One centrifugal switch model is used for the
entire line of IronHorse single-phase motors.
Motor Run Capacitors
In addition to the motor start capacitors and centrifugal switches, IronHorse 1-1/2 hp single-phase motors also have motor run
capacitors. These run capacitors allow the AC motors to develop higher running torque and greater efficiency, and improve the motor power factor.
