Do you need a rugged and reliable optical encoder or rotary encoder at a good price?
Encoders

Koyo has been manufacturing encoders for 32 years, and we now carry selected series of their rugged optical
encoders and rotary encoders for use in positioning and motion control applications. They include standard shaft and hollow
shaft versions of incremental encoders, and absolute encoder models with a stainless steel shaft.
All optical encoders and rotary encoders feature a reinforced aluminum diecast casing, have an operating
temperature range of -10 to +70 degrees C (
except for the NA series, whose operating range is -10 to +60 degrees C),
and come equipped with a two meter cable exit. Flexible couplings in aluminum and glass reinforced resin and mounting brackets
will also be available.
To offer you access to the widest array of Koyo absolute encoder models, in addition to our in-stock rotary and optical encoders ready for
delivery, we also offer many models designated as "non-stock", meaning their normal delivery is 4-6
weeks for quantities less than 100; larger quantities will require more time. These are designated in the
online store with a "clock" icon, and in the printed price list as "non-stock".
TRD-S Series - Light Duty

TRD-N Series - Medium Duty
Medium-duty rotary incremental encoders are the most popular encoders we offer.
The product line has the greatest flexibility of choice while
maintaining very high quality, all for a very low price.
Medium duty encoders offer:
-
Small body with 50mm diameter and 35mm depth
-
In-stock models include 60, 100, 360, 500, 1000, or 2500 pulses per revolution (ppr)
-
Non-stock models include totem pole or line driver outputs in 3, 4, 5, 10, 30, 40, 50, 120, 200, 240, 250,
300, 400, 480, 600, 720, 1200, and 2000 pulses per revolution (ppr)
-
8mm standard shaft or 8mm hollow shaft
-
Accept source voltages from 5 V to 30 VDC
-
100 KHz maximum response frequency
-
IP65 Rating (splash proof)
In-stock medium duty encoders start at

TRD-GK Series - Heavy Duty
These heavy-duty rotary incremental encoders are the most rugged encoders you can buy.
Top-of-the-line bearings help maintain a service life of 12 billion
revolutions.
These encoders offer:
-
Rugged body with 78mm diameter and 60mm depth
-
In-stock models include 100, 200, 360, 500, or 1000 pulses per revolution
-
Non-stock models include totem pole outputs in 30, 120, 240, 250, 300, 400, 600, 800, 1200, 1500, 1800,
2000, 2500, 3600, and 5000 pulses per revolution
-
10 mm standard solid shaft
-
Accept source voltages from 10 V to 30 VDC
-
100 KHz maximum response frequency
-
IP65 Rating (splash proof)
Heavy duty encoders start at
$237.00
(TRD-GK100-RZD)
TRD-NA Series - Medium Duty, absolute encoders
Why use an absolute encoder?
An absolute encoder uses gray code to describe each position, so position data is
not lost when power is cycled.
When power is cycled using an incremental encoder, any positioning information is
lost until “home” position is triggered.
Features include:
-
Small body with 50mm diameter and 35mm depth
-
Stock and non-stock models range from 5 bit to 10 bit Gray code outputs
-
8 mm stainless steel solid shaft
-
Accept source voltages from 10 V to 26 VDC
-
20 KHz maximum response frequency
-
IP65 Rating (splash proof)
Medium duty absolute encoders start at
$271.00
