This is one of those essential widgets for connecting standard wire (i.e. 18 AWG) to RJ-12. I used 2 to provide connection between a Click PLC and C-More HMI panel that were separated by about 20ft. The HMI was on the control console and the PLC on a separate hydraulic power unit. Between them was an industrial cable (18 AWG, multiconductor), a typically frustrating task made easy. I also used it to connect a plasma cutter to a standard PC and for some standard phone system work. It makes it easy to properly arrange hardware connections such as crossing the RXD and TXD lines for RS-232 communications. The two bonded Shield connections are also useful to have, whether for connecting an actual shield connections or for standard signal ground connections. The DIN rail mount keeps connections neat and secure too. I have not found a better single product to do what this does.
