First, I am fully satisfied with this drive unit. It is well made and is well laid out. It is, as evidenced by the price, a "utilitarian" unit, and little things like barrier terminals and the membrane switches are on the light-duty end of the spectrum, but not too far as I do call this a well made device for an economy unit. Fit and finish is professional. The programmable features are all that you could want for a basic drive and the manual (both hard copy supplied and pdf file) are very well organized and clearly documented. The quick-start card is very helpful if you already know drives and just need to get the key settings in place and go. I am using this to drive a 1.5 Hp motor, with frequent speed changes and fwd/rev changes. It dissipates heat well. The ease of changing the data display is very handy, especially when testing load protection and mechanical clutch safeties against rated tolerances. The power terminals easily handled #12 thhn and the control terminals handled #18 signal wires. All terminals are well labeled with intuitive abbreviations and symbols. I have no hesitation to buy these again for general use and I plan to use this family of drives for other control needs of general manufacturing motor driven equipment.

We currently have about 4 of these VFD's in 1 HP and 2 Hp sizes, for ease of set-up/price and the quick delivery with AD they are a great item.

A sweet little drive that is very easy to setup. From mounting to wiring to setting it up, I had it up and running in less than 20 minutes.

I'm ordering another GS1-22P0 with a bit of trepidation. One unit in service for only a week driving a 1HP pump just vaporized half its output transistors with a loud bang. Since the fault MAY have been with a downstream relay opening too quickly, I'm not prepared to say it's a design or manufacturing fault in the GS1, but it makes me think the protection circuitry is marginal and a sudden power dropout could fry the unit. $163 is an inexpensive VFD but it's a very expensive fuse.

I had never used an AC drive before but I was able to program the thing and connect it to the Ironhorse motor that runs the test rig in our research lab. They work real well together and now we a ble to slow down the test rig to any desired speed. Just what we needed.
