while not an expert on OPC software, this had the cleanest and most functional interface of the several OPC server software packages that I tried. Easier for a beginner but might lose out a bit for the more experienced OPC folks who want every last feature and function

It is Working GOOD. AD have to do something, with the box build-in or like add-on card to the drive, Or make better slim box like the new safety relays LGXXXX

I was very excited to get this product in and hook it up to my GS drives, before I was using the software and my laptop to configure the drive, and a serial cable to tie it to my DL06, which all worked well. Unit was easy to setup and install, did have a little trouble with the short RJ11 cable, when I tried to use two another RJ11 cable, the card did not reconize the drive. Will need to investigate what it will take to get a longer cable, for $200 the unit should come with a long and short cable. Once hooked up, the web interface worked without issue, but to my surprise the only items available where the Px.x values used to configure the drive, there is no operational values presented nor the ability to start/stop, speed up, etc the drive. I would highly recommend they add a page to the web server that gives you this basic control, hopely in a firmware upgrade. Until then, I am going to shelf the module and control via the serial interface that I had before.

Had instrument noise problems when running GS1`, GS2 or Durapulse drives nearby. Install these on input and output wiring of drives and reduced interference by at least 80%. Quick, cheap, easy, effective. Highly recommended.

This cable works exactly as it's supposed to. That being said, two things would make it so much better; A) an option to buy the cable halves with flying leads that can be passed through conduit and landed on terminal blocks. Something along the line of the ZipLink cables would be nice. B) $37 is a lot to pay for a glorified ribbon cable. I've come to associate AD with good value, and this cable just seems overpriced.

This is one of those essential widgets for connecting standard wire (i.e. 18 AWG) to RJ-12. I used 2 to provide connection between a Click PLC and C-More HMI panel that were separated by about 20ft. The HMI was on the control console and the PLC on a separate hydraulic power unit. Between them was an industrial cable (18 AWG, multiconductor), a typically frustrating task made easy. I also used it to connect a plasma cutter to a standard PC and for some standard phone system work. It makes it easy to properly arrange hardware connections such as crossing the RXD and TXD lines for RS-232 communications. The two bonded Shield connections are also useful to have, whether for connecting an actual shield connections or for standard signal ground connections. The DIN rail mount keeps connections neat and secure too. I have not found a better single product to do what this does.

The GSoft configuration utility serves its purpose allowing the user to quickly configure AutomationDirect VFDs. The user interface is somewhat cumbersome and unpolished. I do not like the way the software handles saving of offline configuration files. In my opinion, this utility should be a freeware download or at least provided free to those who purchase VFDs.
