I installed a GS3-22P0 drive in my CNC router and it generated a LOT of conducted noise on all the power circuits, including ground. It paralyzed the rest of my system. After installing the filter, everything runs beautifully. It's too bad the filters aren't just built in to the drive, but at least there is a solution. NOTE: The wiring diagram on the box that it comes in is wrong where it says which color wires to use for single phase. Call tech support if you're not sure.

We are an OEM. My company selected the Sure Servo line not only because of value but because of availability. Recently I had a customer with a down machine and you had no SVL-204's in stock. That left me in a very bad situation. We had to buy a 204B, take it apart, disable the brake, obviously invalidating the warranty. I got my customer back up and running, but it took a great deal of effort and additional expense to do so. Could you please keep a better inventory????????

Used in a light-duty industrial application. After several months in development, the drive was in service for 18-20 months before failure. The failure occurred 2 months after warranty expired. I replaced it with the same model hoping that its early demise was an anomaly- not wanting to re-develop the application with other equipment. Caveat Emptor!

What can you say about a cable? It works or it doesn't right? Well, these work but I.M.O. the design could be improved. Specifically- finding a cord grip to pass this cable through to an enclosure is virtually impossible. One must use a hugely oversized grip to get through one of the soldered on connectors and then artificially increase the girth of the cable (in my case I used E-tape) to get the cord grip to 'grip'. Personally, I think A.D. should offer some kind of a short (.5m/1m) CN2/Encoder cable that has a panel mount Female CN2 connector on 1 end and a male CN2 plug on the other (like the cables that are sold with the GS2 & GS3 Drives to allow panel mounting of the control keypad.

Rather easy to program, the wireing diagrams I thaught left a little bit to be desired but the tech support was very helpful and friendly. I feel it could use a few more physical Digital Input points to expand its large input data base. It has about 44 possible input options and only 8 physical input points, but it is overall a great unit.

- The documentation should be better, so it is clear that the encoder cable must be purchased with the servo motor and driver to make the system work. Some motors show cables which look like that will connect, and the 10' cable is just an optionl extension, whihc is not the case. - The manual for programming a servo motor system should have more examples. Once you understand how to program the unit the manual makes sense, but it is difficult to learn by reading the first time. - It is very easy to program the sure servo driver using the buttons on the face of the unit. The cable to a computer and the software were not needed for my application.
