Have used these units as replacements for a pushbutton array in a mixing room in an industrial bakery. The touch screen and a D0-05DR have replaced two mechanical timers and 8 mechanial pushbuttons that were replaced at least twice a month due to the harsh environment the mixers are in. The touch screens have lasted over a year. The face of the panel after year of high pressure washdowns has delaminated at the edges and allowed a little moisture in.

For the cost of only a few buttons and wiring, this is a great value. Very easy to program and seamlessly integrates to the Automation Direct PLC's. Although it may not have all of the special features, for simple machines you can not beat the value this unit provides.

Have used OP-400's for years. In comparison, the EA1 has a brain the size of a planet. The bottom end EA1 I used costs less, does tons more. Software has ton's of features and took me a while to learn but it was well worth it. Graphing feature is easy. It doesn't act like the OP-400's. Operation of the EA1 is very stand-alone. The biggest difference is that it is easy to drive screen changes in the OP-400's, less easy with the EA1.

The screen is too small, and connectivity with third party plcs require addittional part and when compare with the 6" micro panel, the difference is very small, So next time I would prefer to purchase the 6" micro panel.

1). I would like to see this product be adapted for ehternet connectivity. Even if it is a seperate adapter device. I have an application where the micro panels will be perfect, but I need them to be on ethernet. 2). The reason I scored average for ease of use is because when the unit is new out of the box it requires a firm ware upgrade before a project can be down loaded. This is understandable since the unit sits on a shelf while upgrades are being made to the programming software etc. However, the issue is that when the first down load is attempted, it prompts you to uggrade the firm ware. 9 times out of 10 the firm ware ugrade download will hang. This is what is frustrating. It takes me some times three or four attempts to successfully update the firmware while I am on pins and needles not knowing if unit will recover or will I have to send it back for a replacement. So far I've been able to eventually suceed in the firm ware upgrade. I would appreciate it if something can be done to resolve this issue.

A bonus is that you can program the unit, and not have to unplug the cable. No issues communicating with the AB MicroLogix 1200.

It simply does not get simpler or less expensive to provide process/control information to your user than with the Cmore-Micro panel.

Easy to install and program. Interfaced to a DO-O5DR. We have used 3 units on Bio-Filters on the local sewer plant.Displays GPM, total gallons per day and total gallons.Nice fit for this application. Sewer plants can be tough enviroments. Installed in Nema 4 enclosures. We expect failures after a year or so. More expensive brands have failed in the same time frame. At a replacement cost of less than 1/3 the cost of the more expensive units we feel that this is a good option.

Simple to use and program. With power provided via the communications cable, it is easy to set up and test at your desk before application. Also, the look of the buttons are better than initially expected and easy to see.

I have been using these little guys for quite a while. They are inexpensive and just keep working. I have used color and high contrast units depending upon the application. Programming is quick and there is a lot of bells and whistles for your buck. I have used them them DL05, DL06 and A-B MicroLogix without a hitch. I have had only unit fail and I could hardly blame the unit, they are not rated to repell fork trucks during shipment.

I have used this display in several projects. I have connected it to Automation Direct and Allen Bradley PLCs without a hitch. I use this display when I need a simple set of screens for setting up parameters in vending machines or on rotary tables. I also used it to be the main interface on equipment that an untrained person person would use unsupervised. I love it!

Fist one shipped was a lemon. Next one worked fine and my account was credited promptly. Pros: ease of use, value for the money relative to competition, nice import of database functionality. Cons: programming software is buggy - simulation feature bombs, panel locks up on transfer of project if a dynamic object (data link) overlaps 'unfavorably' with another object or a few pixels are off screen, dynamic/animated bit maps are only discrete/digital (0/1) so it is not possible to make a 3-state switch (off / On / Auto) or animated graphics beyond 2 layers - very limiting. Also, no Find/Replace of database tags - ie. if you make a screen for Oven1 and then you want to use that as a template for Oven2, you have to re-key all the tags on the screen. Lots of room for improvement on the programming software for the panel and the firmware for the panel. If the EA1-S3ML does not improve in those regards, I will have to look at other possible automation solutions. But, even now, for the money, for small applications, this product is hard to beat. -Andrew H, industrial control/automation engineer

Very good product. I am using it on many small and medium size projects. Any project that requires at least one timer or counter is a good candidate for a small PLC and a touch screen. It's cost effective and better solution then a use of descrite components. Joseph

I have three displays running three door test fixtures. I had trouble programming the display because there were not enough samples on writing the program. I am going to buy the new 6" display EA1-S6ML for a couple of more test stands I am building.
