There are many industries that deal with hazardous material where extra precautions need to be taken to ensure electrical devices do not provide an ignition source for the surrounding environment. Hazardous location control stations are designed to isolate the internal electrical circuitry from its surroundings and prevent any dangers posed by the enclosed arcing device. Sealing materials for hazardous location control station assemblies include fittings to minimize vapor and flame passage through the conduit, a compound to prevent the spread of explosive gases, and packing fiber to pack and hold the sealing compound.
