General purpose AC induction motors are used to power pumps, blowers, conveyors and other machinery. Inverter-rated motors can be used with variable frequency drives to improve efficiency. From small 1-phase to large 3-phase motors, models are available for general use or hazardous locations.

General Purpose and Inverter Rated
General purpose AC induction motors cover a wide range of applications and are typically controlled by across-the-line starters, i.e. contactors, manual motor starters, etc. All AutomationDirect general purpose three-phase motors are inverter rated, allowing them to be controlled by AC drives since they can withstand the higher voltage spikes produced by these VFDs.
