Safety devices such as light curtains, safety mats, and E-stops are used to detect when a hazardous situation arises. To ensure the proper action is taken when these devices are triggered, a dependable control device is required. Safety rated PLCs are one option but can increase the cost and complexity of the safety circuit considerably. Safety relays are a better option for small or simple systems that have a few to a moderate number of safety devices.
Safety relays reliably monitor safety input devices and prohibit machine operation if any hazardous conditions are detected. Contrary to a standard electromechanical relay, safety relays employ various switching, protection, and alerting functions to ensure the safety circuit performs when it counts.

1-channel E-Stop / Safety Gate Relays
Single-channel E-Stop safety relays are ideal for applications using manual E-stop buttons. A variety of control voltages and output configurations are available.
2-channel E-Stop / Safety Gate Relays
Two-channel E-Stop / safety gate relays are ideal for applications using manual E-stop button and safety gates with redundant circuits. Fixed- and multi-function relays are available.
E-Stop / Safety Gate Time Delay Relays
E-Stop / safety gate time delay relays are ideal for applications using manual E-stop buttons or safety gate circuits where a contact release delay is required. Two-channel fixed and multi-function relays are available.
Two-Hand Safety Control Relays
Two-hand safety control relays are ideal for operations where two separate pushbuttons are used to verify a safe state, typically on machinery with dangerous closing movements, ensuring hands are clear of any mechanisms. Two-channel fixed and multi-function relays are available.
OSSD / Light Curtain Safety Relays
Safety relays for light curtains offer capabilities such as release delay, muting, stepping, and protection for multiple curtains. Two-channel fixed and multi-function relays are available.
Safety Mat & Edge Relays
Safety relays for safety mats and edges offer manual or automatic restart. Single and two-channel fixed and multi-function relays are available.
Speed Monitoring Safety Relays
Speed monitoring safety relays provide overspeed, underspeed or window monitoring for single or three-phase motors, by monitoring external proximity sensors mounted on a rotating element of the motor or load.
Frequency Monitoring Safety Relays
Frequency monitoring safety relays provide overspeed, underspeed or window monitoring for single or three-phase motors, by monitoring frequency of the motor power signal.
Motor Standstill Monitoring Safety Relays
Motor standstill safety relays provide standstill detection for single or three-phase motors, by monitoring the remanence voltage (back EMF) of the motor signal.
Multifunction Safety Relays
Multifunction safety relays can be configured for a variety of applications, including E-stop, safety gate, two-hand control, safety mat, exclusive XOR contacts, or light curtain functions. Single or separately settable two-channel models are available.
Safety Extension Relays
Safety extension relays provide additional contacts for Emergency-stop relay modules, safety gate monitors, and safety controllers.
Force Guided Relays
Force guided relays offer safe operation via mechanically linked contacts to ensure that all contacts move at the same time, and preventing movement if any contact is immobilized.
