First time buying a VFD. Bought this one on the advice of a few friends. Its very easy to program and has loads of features. Runs a 1hp motor on my Bridgeport mill and its never overloaded or overheated. Good product.
Have used this series of drives for many years now. Good solid drive. Not my first pick for Constant-Torque applications, but for general motor speed control, no hesitation about using them. Have over 12 of these networked, using PAC3000 to control makeup air fan speeds. This system is nearly a decade old, never gives problems.
I didn't have any trouble with install or setup. Tech support advised product selection. I knew if I had problems expert support was only a phone call away.
I have used the GS3 Drives for many years. In fact the first ones I used are still in service and performing far better than the ones that were in their places before I changed them to GS3. I work primarily in the Water and Wastewater industries and the demands on VFD can be demanding from long hours of service, to harsh environments, and remote locations where power is not always the cleanest. Many times I am replacing burned out drives with the GS3s and have never had a single failure over all the years I have been using them. They are rugged, reliable, and easy to install and program. The only drawback I have had concerning the GS3 Drives is that they are not available for horsepowers above 100. However, I am really looking forward to using the GS4 series of drives in the future as they go up to 300 Hp. Butch Neylon
More a suggestion when installing the input filter the leads from this filter are not long enough to install properly. I have photos for the correction. who do i send them to? Updated info: Pretty simple fix I added a 7/8 hole in side of drive. This was made with hole saw, and positioned so that leads were still in wiring compartment. This will allow the the Filter to be positioned with recommended 2 clearance the VFD needed for cooling. I installed a 1/2 conduit chase nipple to protect wires from getting cut on edge of sharp plastic on drive.
We are using the DURApulse drives more and more. We have even specified them on equipment that we have ordered from other manufactures. They are easy to use and replacements are readily available when needed.
Great value for the price. Easy to configure. Easy to understand instructions.
We have installed many GS3 drives on applications over the years and have always enjoyed the easy installation and setup that accompanies the purchase. We usually have to set these up with a braking unit and braking resistor and it has operated flawlessly, in our experience. We would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an alternative to the larger brand names. We have also used the communication interface on this drive to control and monitor its performance with an AutomationDirect PLC. That, too, is incredibly easy to accomplish with the built-in instruction set in the DoMore PLC.
Have used this series of drives for several years now. Good solid drives. Have controlled with terminals, comm bus, Display unit. Do not hesitate to use them if the application calls for it.1 person found this review helpful.
I have placed two of these drives in a very speed critical production line along side of twelve other drives costing at least three times as much as the GS3's and they have been performing very well.
