I had one of these that blew out after 10 years. Got on the phone and had one shipped same day from stock. I plugged it in, downloaded the parameters from the SureServo software and within 15 minutes away we went! I will warn that if I had not previously downloaded the parameters from the old drive it would have taken hours to reconstruct the configuration of the drive. I recommend you get the SS software and necessary cable for just such an event. I also noticed that the new drive makes the application quieter.

The CN1 (I/O interface) connection does not securely accept the cable harness. We felt it necessary to wrap a cable tie around the amplifier and harness. But the product is a very good value and easy to setup and use.

Assuming our use in production will be as positive as our testing, I would recommend this and the related products.

The servo controller was easy to use, and with the Sure Servo Pro software, easy to configure, program, and save your settings. In addition to the USB-485M, I also purchased the SVC-485CFG-CBL-2 to program the unit (not sure why the cable is not also listed as a recommended item). When programming your moves, it is not just in counts (10,000 per motor revolution); you enter revolutions in one parameter, and in the next the counts. So, for example, if your move is 68351 counts, you would enter 6 revolutions in one parameter, and in the next 8351 counts. This is different than what I was used to with other makes, but easily understood. As the other poster mentioned, the motor wires are a little tricky to get into their connector, and that connector appears to not lock into the socket rigidly. But if you're careful with your cable routing, it can hold into place pretty solidly. The inputs are sink or source, but the outputs are sink only. As such, the wiring shown of the outputs on pages 2-26 and 2-27 is incorrect, but correct on page 2-31 of the manual. Overall, a good unit, and I would recommend it.

Would you buy this item again? Undecided
If you pair this unit with a 1KW servo, the cables for the motor don't fit in the nice little connector on the drive. I had to terminate the motor cable, drop in wire size and come back out to the servo drive. So far, this has not created any issues.
