An easy way to connect a 40 wire ribbon cable to this module for interconnecting between circuit boards. We have purchased many of these and never encountered a problem. Appears to be a bit expensive but likely your neat and best option to connect wires and extended them out via a ribbon cable using this module.
ZipLink modules are awesome and really keep a panel cleaned up.
This is a very clean solution to connect your RJ12 device ( mine was a stepper motor controller) to the outside world if you need it.
I have used this product in a large number of my designs. The ease of access and labeling makes it quite easy to use. If you document your project this is a easy tool for field wiring. For documentation I simply download the CAD drawing of the RTB and ensure the labeling stays up to date. I have used them for going on 2 years now and have no complaints.
Facilitates ease of remote wiring to PLC modules in a neat, compact package. LED's are helpful for status indication at a glance. DIN rail mount makes installation a snap.1 person found this review helpful.
Great value. Eliminates the mess of wiring individual relays. Accommodates varied contact voltage levels with built in diodes for eliminating coil voltage spikes.
Eliminates a ton of wiring. Cleaner terminations & easy to install.
If you like to document your project before you buy components this Zip stuff is not for you. I you dont believe me just specify a ZL-RTB20 with a ZL-D0-CBL24-1 connected to a D0-16ND3 and see how much time you spend trying to produce a terminal to terminal drawing. If the terminal label for this module exist on Automation Direct web site I cant find it. I did read a PDF saying it comes with the module but by the time I get the components Its a little late for making new drawings. Also, these Zips add at least two more items to purchase plus they take up more room in your panel (need a bigger box?) and as far as I can tell (at least in the above example) do not reduce the number of wires I have to terminate at all. In fairness I have to say that some of the ZIP stuff is beneficial and have used them to my advantage. But some seem, to me, just a way sell more product.
Previous reviewer is correct. I used this cable to set up Directnet link between a DL05 and a DL250-1 and it was like a charm. Much better than the officially endorsed DO-CBL which is way to large to fit in our electrical enclosures and much more expensive.
FYI: If you want to connect two Click PLCs together for serial communication, this cable works fine. With the Productivity P-2000 PLC, however, it did not work for me no matter how I configured the RTS settings.
