In systems where components are separated by large distances or where an extreme amount of I/O is needed, remote I/O points can be located separately from the CPU base and linked through communication. DirectLOGIC 405 Ethernet Remote I/O modules provide a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet link between a CPU and remote I/O bases.
With the DirectLOGIC DL405 programmable logic controller (PLC), remote I/O capability is made easy with Ethernet remote master (ERM) and Ethernet base controller (EBC) modules. Remote bases can be located up to 1,000 meters away without a switch. DL405 Ethernet modules include those listed below.
H4-ERM100 10/100BaseT Ethernet Remote Master Module
with 100Mbps data transfer rate; TCP/IP, IPX,
Modbus TCP/IP, DHCP Ethernet protocols; HTML configuration
The Ethernet Remote Master H4-ERM100 connects DL440
and DL450 CPU systems to Ethernet Base Controller (EBC) slave I/O
over a high-speed Ethernet link.
Each ERM100 module can support up to 16 DL205 EBC systems (H4-EBC) or 16 GS1/GS2 Series or DURApulse (GS3 Series) AC drives via GS-EDRV100 units. Of course, combinations are fine, too.

The various Ethernet Base Controller modules (EBCs) provide a low-cost, high-performance Ethernet link between DirectLOGIC DL205, DL405 or Terminator I/O and your PC-based control system or WinPLC/ DL205/ DL405 CPUs using the H*-ERM module for remote I/O. The EBC100 models can also be used to connect DirectLOGIC PLC and Terminator I/O to a MODBUS TCP/IP client (master).
