In systems where components are separated by large distances or where an extreme amount of I/O is needed, remote I/O points can be located separately from the CPU base and linked through communication. Do-more H2 series Ethernet Remote I/O modules provide a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet link between a CPU and remote I/O bases.
Easier control implementation with the latest in PLC technology!
With the Do-more and DirectLOGIC DL205 programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote I/O applications are easy to do!
Note: The H2-DM1E Do-more CPU Module can use the on-board Ethernet port for Remote IO. ERM modules are an option not a requirement for remote I/O with the H2-DM1E module.
The Ethernet Remote Master H2-ERM100 connects Do-more or DirectLOGIC D2-250-1 and D2-260 CPU systems to slave I/O over a high-speed Ethernet link. The H2-ERM100 can also be used in a WinPLC system, but only one H2-ERM100 module can be used with one slave per system.
It is highly recommended that a dedicated Ethernet remote I/O network be used for the ERM module and its slaves. While Ethernet networks can handle a very large number of data transactions, and normally handle them very quickly, heavy Ethernet traffic can adversely affect the reliability of the slave I/O and the speed of the I/O network. Keep ERM networks, multiple ERM networks and ECOM/ office networks isolated from one another.
ERM Workbench is a software utility that must be used to configure an ERM module and its remote Ethernet slaves. ERM workbench supports two methods of configuring the ERM I/O network:

Use EBC modules for PC-based control and for H*-ERM remote I/O slaves.
The H2-EBC100 modules plug into the CPU slot of any DirectLOGIC DL205 I/O base and support all DL205 discrete and analog I/O modules, and the H2-SERIO and H2-CTRIO2 specialty modules. All EBC modules can be configured using NetEdit3, a free Windows software utility. The H2-EBC100 also supports HTML configuration.
You can purchase PC-based control software that is ready to use with the H2-EBC100 module. PC-based control packages are equipped with compatible I/O device drivers, program development tools, and run-time environments. See the "PC-based Control Products" section of our Web site for a single-source integrated PC-based control solution that ships with everything you need to make your PC into an industrial controller. Most of the software packages allow you to connect serial devices, such as barcode readers, to the H2-EBC100 serial port.
When using a Do-more or DirectLOGIC CPU with an ERM module as the network master, the T1H-EBC100 slave will provide faster analog I/O update times than a DirectLOGIC CPU system with a T1K-RSSS slave system. The ERM/ EBC system can also support a much higher analog I/O count than the T1K-RSSS remote I/O system.
