Through-beam ultrasonic proximity sensors consist of a transmitter/receiver pair that detects an object interrupting a transmitted sound wave. Highly accurate, they sense most materials and are not affected by color, transparency, shininess, or lighting conditions. These rectangular sensors with discrete outputs offer detection ranges up to 300mm, with 2m pigtail termination.
UHZ ultrasonic proximity sensors use sound wave technology and are ideal for applications in which the sensed object is made of clear, transparent or varying surface color materials. You can standardize on one sensor for many materials, without any extra setup or sensing concerns.
The UHZ series of miniature ultrasonic sensors includes four models of rectangular through-beam pairs specifically designed for applications with limited mounting space.
