The screen is well built and the quality is nice. I should of done more research into it before purchasing. I needed this screen to display one flow meter's value and that's it. All text has to be manually entered into the program every time the screen is booted, or you have to constantly write the text via modbus to ensure it's still there after a power cycle. This is very tricky to do if you aren't using one of Automation Directs PLC's where they have made this functionality easy. If the screen would just hold whatever text and function was typed into it manually forever it would be 5 stars all around. I can't recommend this product. If I had to do it over again I would of just purchased a headless HMI and a TV.

I used 6 of these screens to display 3 temperatures each on 6 different tanks in a blending/packaging area in our plant. I tied them all to a Allen Bradley Micro850 and used the PLC to format the display data and send it to the screens over Modbus TCP. I hacked the displays to use power over ethernet, so they are each a single-wire hookup to the PLC cabinet. I have no complaints about the ViewMarq screens themselves - they perform very well (I ordered 4 new and 2 refurbished). The documentation side of things is very sparse if you are not using the Automation direct PLC products, so I had to spend quite a while troublshooting and researching how Modbus TCP works and how to get the Micro850 to speak the same language.
