Low-voltage DC motor speed controllers are designed for motors rated for less than 50V operating voltage. Models with SCR or PWM outputs are available. DC drives are used for precise speed control of DC motors and gearmotors in a wide range of industrial applications.

Low Voltage (< 50V) DC Drives
Low-voltage DC drives are intended for smaller DC motors operating at less than 50 volts. They are available with either SCR or PWM outputs. These DC drives provide accurate speed control for DC motors and gearmotors and are widely used across many industrial applications.

GSD1 Series DC Drives
IronHorse GSD1 series DC drives are high-performance Pulse-Width- Modulated (PWM) controllers for 12 to 48 volt equipment providing smooth control with high-efficiency operation.
- For low voltage (< 50V) applications
- 1/50 to 1hp ratings
- Jumper selectable 12, 24, 36 or 48V input voltage
- Provides smooth variable speed capability for mobile equipment
- Automatic compensation holds motor speed if load varies or battery voltage declines
- Available in 10, 15 and 20A versions
- Inhibit terminal permits optional start/stop without breaking battery / power line
- Adjustable max speed, min speed, current limit, I.R. compensation, and acceleration
- Speed adjustment using 5k Ohm speed pot or optional 0-10 VDC analog input

GSD3 Series DC Drives
IronHorse GSD3 series DC drives are general-purpose, economical variable speed controllers for small DC and universal motor applications, featuring a DC output current rating of 2 amps, adjustable trim pot settings, and quick-connect terminal pins.
- 1/50 to 1/12hp @ 12/24 VAC
- Full-wave bridge power supply
- Adjustable minimum speed, maximum speed, IR compensation
- Models available in J-mount or L-mount open chassis, as well as in a NEMA 4 enclosure
- Fixed acceleration (0.5 seconds)
- 25:1 speed range, 1% speed regulation
- 5k Ohm speed pot with leads, knob and dial included

GSD4 Series DC Drives
IronHorse GSD4(A) series DC drives provide cost efficient, reliable control for permanent magnet, shunt wound, and universal motors. Installation and field adjustments are simplified using a barrier type terminal strip and large, easily adjustable trim pots to adjust horsepower ranges.
- 1/50 to 1/6hp @ 24/36 VAC
- Full-wave bridge supply
- Adjustable horsepower settings, min and max speed, IR compensation, current limit
- 50:1 speed range
- 1% speed regulation with armature voltage feedback (+/- 1/2% with tach feedback)
- 5k ohm speed potentiometer with leads, dial and knob included
- Voltage following or DC tachometer follower by supplying ungrounded analog input
- DC tachometer feedback
- Inhibit circuit permits start and stop without breaking AC lines
