System operators and plant floor personnel require some way of monitoring the processes they are overseeing and/or a way to control their operation. Pilot devices, such as switches, pushbuttons, indicators, etc., provide a basic means of system monitoring and control. For more detailed informational displays, easier changes, or to monitor/control numerous operations from one device, an operator interface (OI) or human machine interface (HMI) can be used.
HMIs allow operators to "interface" with automated systems, providing a visual overview of the system's status and direct control of its operation. An HMI's graphical screens can be programmed to display important status and control information to the operator. Pictures, icons, sounds, and colors can all be used by HMIs to visually represent different operating conditions, and many HMIs deploy touch screen technology for user interaction with elements displayed onscreen.
LED message displays provide a more simplified way of communicating vital information. They can convey important data/messages using different color options and transitions. Electronic message boards are ideal for basic displays of process status such as tank level, pressure level, oven temperature, pump or motor status (ON/ OFF), equipment failures, conveyor line error conditions, production output levels, and more.
For many PC-based systems, an HMI can be driven directly from the PC (no separate operating system), and industrial monitors are a cost-effective choice for such applications.

C-more touch panels provide a graphical interface designed to interchange and display graphics, animation and data to and from a PLC by merely touching the screen. You can virtually replace every pushbutton, switch, meter, and other peripheral device with one C-more touch panel. C-more touch screen panels are available in 6", 8", 10", 12" and 15" color TFT display versions. A headless (no screen) HMI version is also available.
The FREE C-more Programming Software, with its graphical environment and reduced object programming steps, makes developing a project for the C-more touch panels a very quick and simple task.
C-more Micro touch panels provide graphics and operator interaction for even the smallest control systems. The C-more Micro is a low cost panel offering a 3-, 4-, or 6-inch screen to display graphics as well as text. Touch screen and non-touch screen panel versions are available.
ViewMarq NEMA-rated LED message displays use the latest LED technology and serial and Ethernet communications for industrial applications. The display can be connected to a PLC (programmable logic controller), PC, or any device that supports serial ASCII, Modbus RTU, or Modbus TCP. Models include 1, 2, and 4-line text message displays with either 12 or 24 characters. All models have tri-color green, amber, and red LEDs with scrolling and blinking text options.
ATLAS® flat panel LCD monitors offer outstanding quality in a rugged industrial package. Compact size and shallow mounting depth makes ATLAS monitors ideal for installation in harsh environments and for many factory automation applications. Three sizes (15", 17", and 19") are available in these NEMA 4 / 4X / 12 sealed panel mounted displays, and all are available with 5-wire analog resistive touch screens.
