EtherCAT positioning modules, paired with the powerful XGB PLC, allow the addition of multiple axes of EtherCAT-controlled motion. 4-axis and 8-axis models (2 per PLC for up to 16 axes) are available, providing extremely accurate motion control using standard Ethernet cables.

LS Electric XGB PLC Motion Components
LS Electric XGB PLCs are powerful controllers with many advanced features including several IEC-based programming languages. These PLCs come with embedded support for basic motion control applications; up to 2 EtherCAT master positioning modules can be added for up to 16 axes of precise motion.
- 10/100Mbps Ethemet port for Modbus TCP/IP communication
- Dual RS-4851RS-232C serial port
- Up to 32 discrete I/O points built-in (16 inputs, 16 outputs), I/O type dependent on model
- Specific Inputs can be configured as (up to) 4 high-speed counter inputs and presets
- Up to 6 high-speed outputs (at up to 200kHz) that can support 2 or 6-axes pulse/direction motion control (depending on model)
- Expandable up to 56 local analog I/O channels or up to 256 locat discrete I/O points using up to 7 expansion modules
- XEL-BSSRT bus couplers can be used to connect additional I/O points and/or to distribute expansion I/O remotely using Ethemet communication
- EtherCAT master positioning modules support either 4 or 8 axes; up to 2 modules allowed per system
- Free IEC-based XG5000 programming software for PLC logic operations, and the XG-PM application for motion axis setup and testing
