CSV stands for "comma-separated values". It is a simple text file listing tabular data separated by commas. Files in the CSV format can be imported to and exported from programs that store data in tables, such as Microsoft Excel.
A CSV is a text file, so it can be created and edited using any text editor such as Notepad or TextEdit. Most often though a CSV file is created through Microsoft Excel. Once you have all of your data in the spreadsheet, click File and choose Save As. Under Save as type, select CSV (Comma delimited). The file that will get saved on your computer will have an extension .csv.
Note*: Some of our products require ordering options. For example cut to length cabling is ordered by the foot. To add ordering options to a part number, use the pipe character "|". If more than one ordering attribute is needed, they should be added in alphabetical order of the attribute name, (Color|Length|Size) for example.
Example of a CSV file

If there were no problems you will see the CSV file items listed in your cart.
If there were errors in the CSV file, either due to the format or invalid item codes, it will be reported to you on the Shopping Cart page.
