you decided to try the click PLC from automationDirect and you already downloaded the free software installed it right if not go back to the previous tutorial to complete that step if you're still with me then hang on and we'll show you the beginning steps of using the click programming software after installing the software either go to start then programs and find the click software as shown here left mouse click and open up the software or double click the icon on your PC desktop or from the tray icon if you don't have an icon on your desktop or tray that is because you elected not to create them when the software was installed the click software will start up as shown and will display the main window the start up dialog box will be displayed click on start a new project to begin entering the ladder logic program example that we'll cover in the next learn video the ladder logic area of the development screen is split into two areas an input area that can include up to 31 instructions across the columns for the 31 instructions are labeled a through AE and a separate coil area that is used for output coil and box type instructions this column is labeled AF the coil area can be toggled to display on or off in the split screen mode the rungs are labeled numerically in sequence starting with one the main window is divided into menus toolbars and windows that work together to make project development as simple as possible see the software's online help shown here for additional details thanks for watching and we hope that you'll view more of our learn videos
