Let’s start with voltage and horsepower requirements. If you need to power with 120V you can see only the GS10 and GS20 have this option. With both, you can run a 1 horsepower 230V 3-phase motor. All drives support 230V single or 3-phase input in the ranges shown. And of course all the drives support 3-phase 460V input power. Need a built-in PLC? The GS20, GS30 and GS4 have an internal PLC with free software. We’ve got communications covered with built-in Modbus RTU on all drives. If you need Ethernet-based communications like Ethernet I/P, EtherCAT or Modbus TCP you can add a module to the GS20, GS30, or GS4 to accomplish these. Speaking of add-on modules, the GS4 and GS30 can accept additional analog and digital I/O. The GS20 even offers a control power backup module. All the drives can utilize the GS4-KPD keypad to view full parameter description and the multiline display saves you time when programming. All DURApulse drives have v/hz or sensorless vector control built in. For motor feedback the GS10, GS20 and GS30 provide a single input for an encoder pulse up to 33khz and the GS30 can utilize a quadrature encoder feedback for closed-loop vector control. There are also several features specific to some drives like the GS10 and GS4’s pump control mode and tension control in the GS30.
