What is a PLC? Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) contain the hardware and software used for the automation of industrial electromechanical processes, such as control of machinery on factory assembly lines, amusement rides, or food processing. A programmable logic controller, or PLC, is a computer that’s designed to control and automate processes typically, in an industrial setting but is used wherever you are looking to reduce human interaction and increase precision and efficiency. With PLCs all of your real-world inputs and outputs can be directly wired into the PLC, eliminating a lot of unnecessary control devices that will save you money and greatly reduce your circuit complexity.
