Have you tried to find a good solution for a wired outdoor radio? I searched online and couldn't find a solution for an outdoor head unit and amplifier that was rated for the outdoor environment. Having been a boat owner for years, a DIYer, and working in the automation industry my whole career, I came up with my own solution for an outdoor radio for our backyard and pool environment. Since no one uses CDs anymore, radios are now smaller than the old head units. Most only require a radio tuner and Bluetooth. I found this small-format Marine radio designed for boats and wet environments that fits perfectly in a small NEMA enclosure rated for outdoor environments. Aside from the radio and antenna, I found everything else for this project at AutomationDirect. Integra makes the enclosure and is NEMA rated from 1 up to NEMA 13, meaning it is better rated than what we need for this project. And what about power? Boat and car radios run on 12 Volts DC, while homes use 120 Volts AC. Easy fix, I added a RHINO DC power supply to safely convert AC to DC. Do you need it watertight? I picked up cable glands also from AutomationDirect for a clean, sealed finish. I cut out the large hole for the radio, wired the power supply and the radio, connected my outdoor-rated speakers, and boom! I have a weather-resistant sound system so we can listen to the radio or stream from our cellphones. If you want to see more DIY videos on projects like this one, visit AutomationDirect.com
