Stride Pocket Portal: Connect Your Device to the Account from AutomationDirect

The Pocket Portal requires a wireless access point and internet connection. Setting up the Pocket Portal also requires a data subscription and a smart device that is loaded with the Stride Pocket Portal app. To setup your Pocket Portal, first you will need to download the smart phone app. This app is available for both iOS or Android platforms. Once you have your app installed, select here to set up your Pocket Portal account for the first time. Once you have that setup, select here to add your device. Give your device a name. And if you already have a device profile setup, you can apply that here. If not, you will have a sample profile that you can apply to the device. Once you finish this initial provisioning, that will connect your device to your cloud-based account, you can always apply an updated profile later from the site. In the description below you can find a video link showing how to create a device profile. Once you get here, you will press the Blue Bluetooth button on the side of the Pocket Portal. Now, this will go through the process of searching for nearby WIFI networks, and once you see your network appear, select that network and then you will be prompted to enter in the WIFI password. When you have that entered, hit connect. Now, it will begin to the process of assigning this Pocket Portal to your Cloud account. This whole process took me about 3 minutes, but the time taken to do this will be dependent upon your internet connection. While it is going through this process, you can press here, and see what is being applied to your device. When this is complete, your device will reboot and then it will be connected to your Pocket Portal account. Now that it is connected, you will be able to make changes to this Pocket Portal through your Pocket Portal account without having to go through this provisioning process again.
