The goal of this challenge is to create a 20 to 1 scale model of an infinite recharge robot that can be placed on the AutomationDirect infinite recharge 3D printed field. 3D printing is not required, so don't worry if you don't have access to a 3D printer. You just submit a design that's ready to be 3D printed. Of course, it's a good idea to print your 3D scale model before submitting it to make sure it works as planned. So, if you don't have access to a 3D printer, we will connect you with a team that will 3D print it for you and they may even offer to help you refine your design. Don't know how to use cad or how to create a 3D printed scale model? No problem. Watch this short video where we show you step by step how to create a simple scale model in just a few minutes Using FreeCAD software that doesn't require a high-end pc which means anyone can do this, not just the cad guys. You can even use common office supplies in your model. So you could use a paperclip for a coat hanger for an axle. For example, did you notice the 3D printed field uses coat hangers for the hanging bars and the support bars? Or use a rubber band or a spring from a ballpoint pen to make a catapult or a shooter or wind-up drivetrain. Just make it an easy to assemble and print toy robot that doesn't fall apart when you touch it. And here's the good news. Every submission gets an additional Kit of Parts voucher from AutomationDirect that you can use to buy whatever you want from automationdirect.com Stock up on cable ties or get some mini pneumatic parts, for example And even better news the winning teams get an AutomationDirect voucher for $500. This would be a great way to get some high-end tools or sensors for your team. Contest details and registration can be found at georgiafirst.org. Or hit the link below this video. So let your imagination run wild. We can't wait to see what you come up with. AutomationDirect and Georgia FIRST working together to help you build a brighter future.
