With the 2018 interactive GRITS trophy created by AutomationDirect you can actually play a mini version of the Power Up game! When you hit START, you get the usual drivers behind the line message and a count down. Then you see the classic Georgia FIRST Game start sequence and the game begins. As the Yellow Power Cubes are added to the Switch and the Switch tilts, the Switch changes colors and the score increments. You can even invoke the various power-ups. This trophy uses an industrial C-more Micro color touchscreen HMI and illuminated buttons. If we turn the trophy over … we see a CLICK PLC is the controller and a Rhino power supply. A pair of proximity sensors are used to detect the position of the switch. A wiring diagram and parts list is included with the design files which you will find a link to in the description below this video. The beauty of this trophy is the programming software used for both the CLICK PLC and the C-more micro HMI are free, so you can open the source code provided with the design files and actually see how the PLC and HMI work together to create this unique trophy! The touch screen even has a button for how to play the game and another button that tells you about how it works. If we turn the trophy around, we see there is even a convenient power cube storage area behind the 3D printed Scale! We hope this little project gives you some ideas that you can use in your automation projects! AutomationDirect and Georgia FIRST – working together to help you build a brighter future!
