How to Build a Combination Manual Motor Starter, Introduction
welcome my name is Kerrie Shyer and we'll be building a combination manual motor starter using Fuji components offered by automation direct part one is the introduction by utilizing the UL Type e rating of the Fuji manual motor starter a combination starter can be constructed and wired in quick easy steps and at a low cost the manual motor starter is classified as a self-protected motor control device allowing for group motor control without the need for separate motor branch circuit protection the manual motor starter provides short circuit motor overload and phase loss protection as well as onoff control with lockout capability with a shortcircuit current rating of 50,000 amps when combined with a Fuji scce series contactor remote motor control is possible with a minimum amount of space requirements typical applications for a combination motor starter can include inductive motor starting and control NEC 430 and 409 fulfillment and UL 508e type 2 coordination for group motor rating installations the Fuji manual motor starter is available in 45 mm and 55 mm frame width the 45mm frame is capable of controlling controlling Motors up to 20 horsepower at 480 volts while the 55 mm frame can handle Motors up to 40 horsepower let's go to part two for selecting the components
