Electrical Rated Screwdriver
Welcome to Kickstart where you get to see new products here at AutomationDirect. Well, today I am going to show you our new tools from Wera. AutomationDirect has carried screwdrivers and wiring tools for years, but we keep adding more and more products so that we can become your ONE STOP SHOP. We have just added 33 new part numbers to our tools. I will divide these up and go over each one. We have some new Flat or “slotted” screwdrivers, Phillips head screwdrivers and insulated screwdrivers. Now these are sold as individuals or in sets. These have a nice ergonomically formed handle and as you can see, they go the extra step and do things like create a hex handle so that they don’t roll off your working surface. One of my favorite advantages to these is the Laser Tip design. Where the tips are actually laser etched to prevent rounding off on the screws. Now I’m going to show you a demonstration in a second where the laser edge grabs the screw heads tight and keeps them from rounding off. Now what I’ve got here is a piece of oak, which is a hard wood, and I’ve got a couple of screws. And I can literally just keep cramming that screw into this hard wood until either the screw’s going to break or I will just bury it right into the wood. Now the second screw here I actually rounded off the head purposely with a drill. As you can see, that laser etching still grabs the screw really nice and tight. And the last one, this is a drywall screw, and if I keep running it in I’m going to snap the screw off, but you notice the screwdriver never loses grip. Now all the handles have markings of the tip symbol and size on the end. Now like I said these are available in singles or they can be purchased in these kits and they come with a nice holding rack like these. We are now offering micro or miniature screwdrivers like these. And you can purchase these in a set or you can buy these individually. Now these are great for adjusting setscrews on flow valves or making adjustments on timers or anything with small heads. Like I said, you can purchase these as a set and they come with this nice holding rack. And now for the first time we’re selling Hex Key sets also known as Allen Wrenches. Now we have these in both Metric and in Inch. These have a Hex-Plus or a “dished” design vs being flat, and this allows the allen wrench to grab the bolt heads tighter. Now let me explain a little bit better because it’s hard to understand the terminology, but if you look on the top edge here, let me see if I can do this while we zoom in. The actual top edge or each edge is not just flat, it’s actually concave, and this does help. I’ve actually tried these out. They also have a nice case like this and it opens up. And like I said these come in metric and in standard. Now we have Driver bits, like this one here. And these are sold in Kits or Sets. And they have nice features like this ratchet kit has a ratchet built in – it locks into place and as you can see all of the bits that come in this set. And one of the cool features about these is…I’m going to show you. It’s got the bit adaptor. And in all of the bit adaptors sold here the bits will lock into place and they won’t fall out or come out. You literally have to release them to get them to come out. We sell two kits. You can see the nice one there that has all of the bits. And we sell a smaller kit here with a bit adaptor and bits. Next up we’ve got the screwdriver here with the bits that are stored in the handle, as you can see here if you want to zoom in. And again the bits lock into place just as I showed you earlier. You can retract or you can remove or you can store it. And it comes with a nice carry case that you can put on your belt. And we have Torque Tools like this one here, and they come in two different sizes: 2 & one-half to 11 & one-half in lbs or you can get one from 11 to 29 in lbs. I’m going to demo this. Same piece of wood, and you can hear that sound (click, click, click, click, click). So when it reaches it’s max torque it does that and you can go and reverse - it gives you full torque. Now to change your torque settings simply pull down, and you can rotate it and change the torque settings which are marked here on the shaft. Next up is one of the most popular sets – it’s an insulated screwdriver set. It comes with slotted, Phillips, Phillips/slotted combo, posidrive/slotted, Robertson (which is a square), & 4 cabinet latch blades that are very handy when you are out on the plant floor and you need a key to open an enclosure. Now this set also has a voltage tester and a nice carrying pouch. So you can put this one on your belt as well. And as you can see, all of the blades are insulated and they can be removed from the handle. Now also we have a smaller kit here – that is a 7 piece. And again it comes with a nice carrying case that can be mounted on your belt. Now last up are the accessories – well, I guess we’ll call these accessories. This again is a Driver bit adapter. And like I said while a go, it as well locks in the blades just as I showed you a minute ago, and it has a magnetic base. Now here we have driver bits. These are sold in packs of 10 each. We offer Phillips and slotted. I used to use a lot of these when building panels. Well I hope that you find these new tools exciting – I really like the advantages of these tools over any of the other brands that I’ve tried personally. Now Remember: all the screwdrivers have a lifetime warranty. You can find the agency approvals and specs for these tools on our website at : www.automationdirect.com And don’t forget: we sell other screwdrivers & tools like, crimpers, wire strippers, drill bits and more!
