Use an RTD sensor for temperatures up to a few hundred degrees if you need long term stable and accurate measurements. For wider temperature ranges up to a couple thousand degrees - use a thermocouple. They can handle that and tend to be a little more durable. Pick a mounting option and connection type that suits your application. Be sure to use RTD or Thermocouple wire to extend distance – regular wire won’t work. Connect to any of AutomationDirect’s most recent PLCs – all can take RTD or Thermocouple inputs and convert the temperature directly into memory without a single line of code! You can do it – with AutomationDirect.
