Use the technology built into the Productivity3000 programmable controller to make your job easier. The integrated diagnostic tools (in the FREE Productivity Suite Software) save you time and headaches: Run-time editing lets you make changes to your ladder logic without pausing I/O updates or stopping/restarting the program. Commissioning or troubleshooting a system is less time- consuming if you can make program changes on the fly. From forming plastic to making paper, you can keep your process running, avoiding downtime and product waste. The built-in display on the CPU can show system alarms and information, or it can be configured to display user-defined messages with embedded tag name data. The P3-550 CPU and the Remote Slave module both have a four-line by 10-character LCD display which can be used to navigate through various setup screens and system error messages to speed configuration and troubleshooting. It can also display error messages, error history, the current mode status, date & time, system information, system configuration, and there’s even a monitor mode to view data. An LCD instruction in the programming software is used to program pre- configured messages for dynamic display on a specific LCD screen or all system LCD screens at once. The patent-pending LCD on all the analog modules gives you quick access to actual field signal values - or view module and signal faults, such as range errors. Just as you can quickly check the front panel of a discrete module to determine the state of a discrete I/O point, now you can check the status of your analog signals just as easily. The LCD display allows non-invasive measurements; no need to connect a multi-meter in line with the analog signal - which might even affect the signal being measured. View the raw analog values: volts, milliamps, temperature or millivolts - depending on the type of module - or view the resulting tag value: (0-65535) in Decimal or Hex - that is being processed by the PAC. Module Status Bits (MST) are automatically created for each I/O module, and can be used for error checking and reporting, and to simplify the troubleshooting process. These bits are added to your tagname database automatically and you can change or augment the tagnames to be even more descriptive. Some examples include: “missing 24V”, “under and over-range errors”, “module not ready”, and “module failed”. Create custom Data View windows to organize and access the specific tag values that matter for various troubleshooting and debugging tasks. Edit values, force bits, and check Modbus addresses. You can even choose to view the native tag values, or have the Data View window convert to more convenient formats: hex, binary, BCD, etc. Then give your Data View windows their own descriptive names and save them for future sessions. Create powerful graphs with the Bit and Word Histogram tools and see your data like never before. Isolate signal race conditions, make sense of rapidly changing numbers or visualize intricate processes. Bit/Word Histograms allow you to capture data at predetermined intervals or triggered on the change of a tag value. Sample as often as once every scan, or at a slower rate that you select, for precise diagnostics of your application. Histograms allow you to clearly see what is happening - and when – down to the bit level. Save multiple histogram configurations and quickly gather the same data again in the future without going through the setup process. Hot swappable I/O gives you the option to replace suspect or failed I/O modules without interrupting the process. That's right, all the I/O modules for the Productivty3000 are hot- swappable! When used appropriately, this capability can save time and help avoid long start-up operations or other down-time related inconveniences.
