Temperature Limit Controllers / PID Temperature Controllers
Process and temperature controllers are powerful process control tools, but they offer very simple operation. Process controllers take a signal from a temperature device, such as a thermocouple or RTD, or from a pressure/ flow/ level sensor, and maintain a setpoint using an output signal.
AutomationDirect's SOLO digital temperature controller is a single loop dual output temperature limit controller that can control both heating and cooling simultaneously.
Four types of control modes: PID, ON/OFF, Ramp / Soak and Manual.
Available outputs include relay, voltage pulse, current, and linear voltage (depending upon controller model)
Up to three alarm outputs available (The SL4824 series supports only one)
Seventeen alarm types available in the initial setting mode
Accepts thermocouple, RTD, or analog inputs
Built in RS-485 interface using Modbus slave (ASCII or RTU) communication protocol
24 VDC input power versions now available
100 to 240 VAC 50 / 60 Hz or 24 VDC input power
1/32 DIN, 1/16 DIN, 1/8 DIN, or 1/4 DIN panel size
Two 4 character 7-segment LED displays: Red for Process value (PV) and Green for Set Point (SV), °F or °C selectable
Auto Tuning (AT) function with PID control
Accepts eleven types of thermocouples, two types of Pt100 RTD temperature sensors, and DC mA, mV, and Volt signals
Two optional Event Inputs available in 1/8 DIN and 1/4 DIN size
Four possible control outputs Relay, Voltage Pulse, Current, and Voltage (depending on model)
Up to three alarm groups, each with seventeen available alarm types
64 levels of Ramp / Soak control
IP65 (NEMA 4) front panel
0°C to 50 °C operating temperature range
UL, CUL, and CE agency approvals
Welcome to Kickstart where you get to see new products here at AutomationDirect. Today I am going to show AutomationDirects brand of SOLO digital temperature controllers. AutomationDirect already carries AC voltage powered temperature controllers, so what we have here today are our new 24 volt - DC powered controllers also known as Temperature Limit Controllers or PID Temperature Controllers. These temperature controllers can do so much; I won’t have time to talk about all of their features, so I will try to cover the main highlights today. They come in one thirty second up to one quarter DIN panel sizes. They have two lines by four characters - seven segment LED Displays with RED for process value and green for set point. They have PID control with Auto tune function. These controllers accept up to eleven types of thermocouples and two types of RTD sensors as well as DC milli amp, milli volt and Volt signals. They are selectable between Fahrenheit and Celsius for thermocouple and RTD inputs. They have a 0C to 50C operating temperature range. They have three alarm groups - each with seventeen available alarm types. Four control output options, Modbus RS485 communications, sixty four levels of Ramp/Soak control and two optional event inputs available in the one eighth and one quarter DIN sizes. You can find the agency approvals and specs for these Solo Temperature controllers on our website at: www.automationdirect.com Don’t forget: we sell other temperature controllers as well as RTDs and thermocouples.
