Let’s work on getting your XEM CPU powered up. The PLC may draw up to 1 amp of current @ 24VDC under normal circumstances with all modules connected and powered. If you look on the bottom of the CPU module, you will see a 3-pin power connector. The CPU includes a pigtail with a corresponding female power connector on the end. This pigtail represents the +24VDC terminal with a red wire, the 0VDC terminal with a black wire, and protective earth ground with a blue wire. It is important to provide the CPU with clean power from a Class 2 or limited voltage limited circuit power supply. The CPU will allow for slight input voltage variation. However, maintaining voltage levels as close to the 24VDC nominal rating as possible is strongly recommended. A power supply that is set near the edge of the CPU’s allowable range may vary outside that range and cause power issues in the CPU.
