Ethernet Remote Master modules include the H2-ERM100 and the H4-ERM100. The H2-ERM100 connects any DL205 or Do-more H2 Series PLC's local CPU base to remote slave I/O over 10/100BaseT Ethernet. The H4-ERM100 connects the DirectLOGIC DL430, DL440 and DL450 CPU bases to Ethernet Base Controller (EBC) slave I/O over 10/100BaseT Ethernet.

Welcome to Kickstart where you get to see new products here at AutomationDirect. Today I am going to show you our Next generation of Ethernet Remote Master modules for our DL205 and 405 families of PLCs. These are the H2 and H4-ERM100 modules and will take the place of the existing H2 and H4-ERMs. These ERM100 modules are Ethernet Remote Masters that support 100BASE-T Ethernet for faster communications. They do everything the original ERMs do but at a 10 times faster speed. If you are not familiar with what an ERM is -- they were a new design that allows remote communications over Ethernet which was a huge improvement over the older serial remote IO modules offered. These Ethernet Remote Masters control Ethernet networks of EBCs which are Ethernet base controllers located in a PLC rack and GS-EDRVs which are our motor drive controller modules. An example I have here. I have eight 205 ERM100 it's going to a switch and the switch is going out to a terminator IO with an EBC in and a 205 with an EBC. This master controls these slaves. You can do this with all sorts of hardware configuration. You could control 405 if you want to as well or in reverse you could have a 405 ERM controlling 205, 405 and terminator as well. These will also control GSE drives which are our motor drive controller modules. They are a breeze to setup with the free ERM workbench software and communications wiring is simple... its Ethernet. No special cables and pin outs needed.
