Protocol Gateways
A protocol gateway, or protocol converter, allows devices using different network protocols to communicate with one another. Gateways are ideal for control networks where old and new devices exist or where IT and OT systems need to be integrated.

- Advantech Modbus gateways
Modbus is one of the most popular communication protocols in the automation industry because it supports both traditional RS-232/422/485 devices and industrial Ethernet devices. Many industrial devices use Modbus as their standard communication protocol. However, the Modbus protocols running over serial and Ethernet are different and data transfer between these two network protocols requires a communication bridge.
AutomationDirect and Advantech brand Modbus gateways provide that bridge, allowing seamless communication between Modbus RTU (serial) and Modbus TCP (Ethernet) products.
MQTT Gateways
MQTT is a machine-to-machine "Internet of Things" connectivity protocol that provides small size, low power usage, minimized data packets, and efficient distribution of information to one or many receivers.
The STRIDE MQTT gateway converts Modbus RTU/TCP signals to MQTT in order for Modbus devices to easily communicate with MQTT/ IIoT capable networks.
