Industrial control applications are often divided into several different machines or sub-systems that all communicate back to a primary PLC or control device. To connect each I/O point from these remote devices to the main controller would take numerous, extensive wire runs. The XGB bus couplers can be installed at a remote location and communicate all I/O signals back to the main controller using a single Ethernet cable. Distributing I/O this way saves installation time, wiring costs, troubleshooting/wire tracing headaches, and makes it much easier if/when remote devices need wiring modifications or need to be relocated.

EtherNet/IP^® or ModbusTCP bus coupler

• The XEL-BSSRT bus couplers give you the flexibility to expand your EtherNet/IP or ModbusTCP I/O system as needed (up to 8 I/O modules per coupler)
• Use any XGB 8-, 16-, and high-density 32-point discrete I/O modules, 4- and 8-channel analog I/O terminals (including thermocouple and RTD temperature modules), or load cell modules
• Supports standard EtherNet/IP or ModbusTCP communication protocols that allow communication with any PLC brand
• The bus coupler's dual Ethernet ports allow Ethernet daisy chaining between bus couplers and ring topology to be used for extra redundancy

• The XEL-BSSCT bus couplers give you the flexibility to expand your EtherCAT I/O system as needed (up to 8 I/O modules per coupler)
• Use any XGB 8-, 16-, and high-density 32-point discrete I/O modules, 4- and 8-channel analog I/O terminals (including thermocouple and RTD temperature modules), or load cell modules
• Supports the EtherCAT communication protocol, allowing communication with any EtherCAT master (excluding XGB EtherCAT expansion module)
