Pump seal failure relays monitor shaft seals of submersible pumps using a probe provided by the pump manufacturer. These 120 VAC relays include an LED fault indicator and are available for single or two-pump monitoring. The 8-pin socket required for these relays can be panel or 35mm DIN rail mounted.
Pump seal failure relays are designed to monitor the shaft seals of submersible pumps. If the seal starts to leak, contaminating fluid will enter the seal cavity and lower the resistance between the internal probe and the common connection. When the resistance drops below the user-adjustable setpoint, the output energizes, which can be used to alert personnel of the leaking seal. The relay will automatically reset when the fault condition clears.
