Pump seal failure relays are designed to monitor the shaft seals of submersible pumps. If the seal starts to leak, contaminating fluid will enter the seal cavity and lower the resistance between the internal probe and the common connection. When the resistance drops below the user-adjustable setpoint, the output energizes, which can be used to alert personnel of the leaking seal. The relay will automatically reset when the fault condition clears.
