High-speed systems requiring precise counting, timing, or motion need I/O that can process high pulse rates independent of the CPU scan. BRX high-speed I/O modules track or supply up to a 2MHz pulse rate for precision control. An 8-point input simulator and placeholder module are also available.
Applications that require precise positioning or coordinated movements need modules capable of accurately tracking and supplying high-frequency pulse trains.
An input simulator module is also available to enable testing of PLC control logic by supplying manually manipulated input signals. They can also be used to supply ON/OFF commands that initiate specific functions in the PLC. The active padding module is used to reserve address space in a BRX PLC system.

High-Speed I/O (HSIO) modules are used to expand the BRX PLC's onboard HSIO capabilities or add high-speed I/O to the M series CPU. Three high-speed input/output modules are available with either sink, source, or differential I/O. BRX high-speed I/O modules can be used to track rapid encoder pulses, drive stepper motors, or can be configured for other counter/timer, axis/pulse, pulse-width-modulated or table-driven functions.
BX-APAD active padding (filling) module emulates other BRX modules in the I/O configuration of a BRX system. It is configured in software to emulate the address space of a specific BRX module. The padding module can be used to reserve address space so that addressing in subsequent modules does not change if a module is removed. It also allows Intelligent module configurations and data structures to be emulated.
The input simulator module provides 8 toggle switches to simulate input devices, ideal for testing or manually controlled operations.
