As PLC communication continues to evolve, BRX PLCs offer customizable options to keep pace. In addition to the built-in serial and Ethernet ports (included on all BX-DM1E models), each BRX CPU features a slot for a user-selected plug-in option module (POM). These hot-swappable POMs are available with RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, USB 2.0, or Ethernet. Modules can be swapped as communication needs change — USB today and Ethernet tomorrow, or serial now and USB later — the choice is yours. POM options include:
- 10/100Base-T Ethernet (RJ45) port models
- BX-P-ECOMLT - Modbus TCP and Do-more protocol (1 Mbps max.)
- BX-P-ECOMEX - MQTT, FTP, Do-more protocol, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP and Ethernet Remote I/O support (for use with Ethernet CPUs only)
- BX-P-SPARK - Sparkplug B protocol
- BX-P-OPCUA - OPC UA protocol
- RS-232 port models
- BX-P-SER2-TERM - 3-pin terminal connection
- BX-P-SER2-TERMFC - 5-pin terminal connection with flow control
- BX-P-SER2-RJ12 - RJ12 connection
- BX-P-SER4-TERM - RS-485 port (3-pin)
