Cable-Pull Safety Switches
Cable-Pull Configuration Examples
For applications with hazards that cannot be isolated with typical machine guarding, cable pull switches provide an emergency stop function that is easily accessible anywhere along the cable length. Ideal for systems with exposed hazards including conveyors and presses, these switches will reliably shut down equipment when the stop rope is pulled and the internal circuit opens.
- Switches have a positive mechanical linkage between the switch contacts and the wire rope.
- On pulling the rope, anywhere along the length, the safety contacts are positively opened and the auxiliary contacts are closed.
- The switches are mechanically latched and can then only be returned to the operational condition by pressing the reset button.
- An optional 2-color LED indicator allows switch status to be viewed from a distance.
- Cable-pull safety switches feature rope break monitoring to ensure system integrity.
These safety interlock and safety limit switches from IDEM and Comepi are developed and manufactured according to IEC and EN European standards and are UL listed for Type 4 machine safety/ OSHA machine guarding.
