Barriers
Zener barriers provide intrinsic safety by diverting fault energy using Zener diodes and fuses to send excess energy to the ground connection. They are smaller, so they save panel space and can be more cost-effective. Digital, analog, temperature, load cell, and frequency modules are available.

Zener barriers provide intrinsic safety and limit energy sent to a hazardous location by diverting fault energy as opposed to isolating the signal. A dedicated ground is required for each module.
STAHL Zener barriers provide a simple, economical method of implementing intrinsic safety for analog, digital, temperature, pulse, and strain-gauge applications. These compact DIN-rail-mounted barriers limit energy entering hazardous areas while supporting a wide variety of field devices. Easy grounding, replaceable fuses, and application-specific models make them a practical solution where galvanic isolation is not required.
