Safety configurable relays can monitor all conventional safety devices, and are well suited to applications where multiple safety relays are required. Relay setup is done through simple rotary switches, with models that support up to 16 different functions. No programming experience is necessary.

Configurable Relays
Schmersal PROTECT SRB-E configurable relays support several applications and monitor conventional safety devices such as interlocking devices, position switches, safety sensors, emergency stop devices, magnetic safety sensors, optoelectronic safety devices, and two-hand control devices. Additional models are available to provide standstill monitoring and safety timer functions. These relays have a simple rotary switch setup. Depending on model:
- Up to 4 pairs safety inputs on a single card
- Up to 5 safety outputs
- Up to 4 signaling (status) outputs
- Safety level up to PLe/SIL 3
- Simple configuration with rotary switches
- LED status for easy troubleshooting
- All modules that monitor safety devices support cross-short monitoring on some functions
- The SRB-E-204PE input extension module is available to expand the number of inputs of a configurable safety relay
