Limit switches with 360-degree rod or spring actuators activate when the top-mounted actuator is pushed past a certain angle in any direction. In types from compact to heavy-duty IEC and NEMA-rated switches, select models offer a non-marring polyamide tip that slides easily over most surfaces.

"Wobble stick" or "cat whisker" limit switches, with 360-degree rods and springs, are activated when an object deflects the actuator past a certain point in any direction. The spring allows the actuator to reset to its original position when the force is removed. These limit switches are available with a rugged stainless-steel actuator, with or without a polyamide tip designed to slide easily over most surfaces. They are available in a variety of styles, ranging from compact to heavy-duty IEC and NEMA-rated switches.

Limit switches designed to the North American NEMA standard are intentionally oversized with a safety factor beyond their design ratings. NEMA devices are typically larger, more versatile, and easier to select than IEC devices, but are also more expensive. These robust Eaton F25 series limit switches consist of three modular, interchangeable, plug-in components: operating head, switch body, and wiring receptacle.
