Ultrasonic Proximity Sensors
Micro Detectors and Wenglor brand ultrasonic proximity sensors provide reliable contactless object detection by using ultrasonic wave reflection. These sensors emit a high-frequency sound impulse and measure the elapsed time for the reflected signal to return from the target. Their ultrasonic beams are not affected by colored, transparent, or shiny objects. Ultrasonic proximity sensors can perform distance measurements regardless of contamination, such as dirt, dust, mist, or ambient light. As a result, ultrasonic sensors are ideal for challenging applications such as:
- Level measurement for tanks containing solids or liquids
- Diameter or loop detection for materials such as paper, sheet iron, etc.
- Transparent object detection for plastic or glass bottles, plastic filters, etc.
