Y-couplers are used to divide a signal into two outputs while T-couplers are used to split power to multiple devices or bring multiple device signals into a wiring block. Y- and T-couplers are available in a variety of sizes and terminal pole configurations.

T-Couplers allow for two signal cables to be combined into one port or they can be used as signal splitters. When using t-couplers, connection capacity is effectively doubled and the number of fieldbus I/O or distribution boxes required is significantly reduced. Y-couplers are used in electrical cable applications to split a single input into two separate outputs, and are especially useful in space-constrained or directional installations.
