Welcome to Kickstart where you get to see new products here at AutomationDirect. Now today what I am going to talk about is our new GX series of DC 18mm rectangular photoelectric sensors. That’s a mouth full! Now AutomationDirect has been carrying a lot of different sensor styles for years. We just keep adding to the product lineup to offer more choices. What I have today is a compact cube style sensor that is ideal for conveyor applications or applications with tight spaces where a typical 18mm barrel style can be a problem. As you can see if I mounted this sensor on the side of a conveyor it takes up a lot less space and is less prone to being damaged than a standard barrel sensor like this one where the cable typically comes out the back. Now these new sensors all have an M12 quick disconnect and it’s already at a 90 degree in the housing and that keeps the cable from being damaged and keeps it protected. They all have an 18mm threaded lens and they do come with a hex nut for mounting or if you want to zoom in you can mount the sensor by utilizing the 2 mounting holes in the housing. Now on the back there are also 2 LEDs and 1 of these is for signal and 1 is power. I’m not sure if you can see them since it’s not powered up right now. Now we have Diffuse with background suppression. We offer Polarized Retro Reflective and we offer Thru-beam styles. You can get these all in NPN or PNP configuration. And there is a total of 12 new Part numbers with this sensor lineup.
