Basic AC motor soft starters provide for gradual motor starts (and stops, if equipped), reducing the mechanical shock associated with full on/full off motor control. They also offer additional motor protections and are capable of handling a variety of applications from standard duty, including agitators and lathes, to heavy duty, including crushers, shredders, and wood chippers.
